What's new?
So what's new?
Well Dad and Hazel visited this past weekend and we did some gardening and went to the Wildflower Festival at the Athens Montessori School and at Barnet Shoals Elementary. The Athens Montessori Singers sang again and we toured the children's gardens and bought some plants. On Sunday we went to a pool party for one of Emma's class mates out in Lexington, GA. Despite the rain at the beginning of the party it was fun and Emma spent the whole time in the pool -- except when eating ice cream. The pool was heated which was a good thing because it was a cool day.
The first week in May I flew out to San Francisco with some co-workers to attend the Innovative Users Group meeting. It was a great meeting with lots of interesting sessions. I got to do some shopping in China Town and elsewhere and also ate some great meals. I really enjoyed my mini-vacation out to see my friend Frances and her family in Corte Madera. They have a lovely and not too big house and gorgeous garden with a view of the hills. Her husband Steve fixed us a delicious dinner from what they had in the house and then we drank lots of wine and caught up on the last nine years. I ended up spending the night and then taking the ferry back to San Francisco the next morning in the gorgeous sunshine and cool, fresh air. The view of the Golden Gate, Alcatraz and the city was terrific. The next evening Frances and I meet another old friend from our days in Brussels, Belgium -- Jennifer and had dinner near my hotel. There may be a photo to come if I ever e-mail Jennifer.
I successfully did my one hour talk of a day long CLE seminar on Internet Legal Research which the UGA Law Librarians did for the Georgia ICLE. It was on Friday the 13th which is my lucky day (my birthday) anyway.
Not much else is new.
